Using Regions in Viewer App

Regions in the Viewer app determine the AWS region where processing takes place.

Viewer does not store processed data in a database. Choosing a region only controls where the processing backend runs, which can help with data locality, compliance, and internal governance requirements.

What choosing a region means

Selecting a region changes where Viewer processes the document request. It does not mean Viewer stores documents in a separate database in that region.

How to enable regions​

  1. Open Viewer Administrator in Salesforce.
  2. Go to Configuration.
  3. Turn Enable Regions to ON.
  4. Select the required Region from the dropdown.
  5. Click Save.
Before enabling

Choose the region that best fits your organization’s compliance, residency, or internal security requirements.

Available regions​

  • EU
  • US β€” Enterprise plan
  • IL β€” Enterprise plan
Plan availability

Some regions are available only for customers on the Enterprise plan.

When to use regions​

Use regions when your organization needs:

  • processing closer to a specific geography
  • better alignment with compliance or legal requirements
  • internal control over where document processing happens
